Manufacturers have to appeal to a wide range of drivers and uses, including lower insurance groups, tax brackets, emissions targets, and global markets. As a result, many vehicles are detuned from the factory.

It’s common for the same engine to be sold in multiple power outputs — for example, the Ford Transit 2.2 diesel available as 100bhp, 130bhp, and 170bhp — with the difference being software, not hardware.

All our remaps are safely within the tolerances of a healthy engine and turbo. We perform thorough health checks both before and after tuning. These engines can handle up to 550bhp and 1000Nm, so our packages remain well within safe limits.

Yes tuning your car is legal! However for your vehicle to be road legal your require all of your emissions systems to be in place including your DPF so if you choose the stage 2 or stage 3 packages this is for off road use only.

You should always declare any modifications, including tuning, to your insurance company. Failure to do so could invalidate your coverage if a claim is made.

However, Stage 1 and Stage 1+ remaps require no hardware changes and are 99% undetectable. Why not 100%? Only dealer-level diagnostics can detect them. From experience, inspections are usually done by companies without access to dealer-level software.

Remaps are undetectable by standard diagnostics used by most garages, and even we have to dig deep to check if a vehicle has been mapped. In our experience, no client has been caught out by not declaring tuning.

For flash (road) remaps, allow around 1–2 hours. You’re welcome to wait with the vehicle, drop it off, or post the keys through our letterbox out of hours if that’s more convenient.

For dyno tuning sessions, the average time is 4–5 hours. Courtesy vehicles are available on request and are free of charge, subject to availability.

You can pay over 3, 4, or 6 months up to £1,000 with no credit check required.
